Use of Wigs

Wigs have been used by humans for a very long time. It was used by people of various ancient civilizations, including that of the Egyptian (who wore wigs to protect their shaved heads from the sun), Assyrian, Phoenician, Greek and Roman civilizations. They were also used by the representatives of the European royalty. In the UK (and many Commonwealth nations), special wigs are still worn by the judges and barristers in law courts.

But, today wigs are mainly used by bald people as an attempt to hide this unwanted physical appearance from the world. And this habit is noticed all over the world, like Androgenetic alopecia itself. Somewhat more expensive wigs are made from Near East Asian hair (mostly from India). Indian hair is thinner and less coarse as compared to Chinese hair. The most expensive natural hair wigs are typically made with European hair (mostly collected in countries formerly of the old Soviet Union). Some wigs may use a blend of cheaper hair from Asia and expensive European hair to reduce the costs.

Human hair wigs can provide a very natural looking result, but as they are made from real hair they need extra care and attention to keep them looking good. With careful maintenance a human hair wig can last a couple of years. After this the wig might be replaced or it could be repaired and new hair added.

To obtain a good human hair wig go to an experienced wig supplier. Don't be too shocked when the supplier provides you with a very dense looking wig that only vaguely resembles you own hair. Good wigs are made with a higher density of hair than you would naturally have. This is so that the wigs can be cut, thinned, styles, and blended to match each individual and to the individual's own preference. It takes an expert stylist to cut a wig to suit a person and to make the end result look natural. They only get one chance to do it right and they are cutting several thousand dollars worth of hair so they need to get it right. Look for someone with considerable experience in wig styling. The average stylist will not be able to do it.
